SINGAPORE — The coronavirus has brought fundamental changes to our lives, including how we stay fit and healthy. In light of the pandemic, many of us have adopted different workout regimens to stay fit.

Yahoo Life SEA spoke with fitness industry insiders from Virgin Active Singapore, Urban Den, The RippleClub, F45 World Athletics, Hello Physioand anya active on growing fitness trends in 2022. Representatives also share how they have pivoted their business models to meet the changing fitness demands in Singapore. With work from home and remote work situations continuing, here are the top six trends these fitness pros are seeing. Fitness Trend 1: More in-person and varied fitness classes

Fitness Trend 2: Hybrid Training Patterns

When the first Circuit Breaker was introduced in April 2020, exercising outdoors became the default choice. Now that gyms have reopened, it looks like the love for outdoor sports with plenty of air circulation and social distancing measures hasn’t waned. As social beings, small group classes and personal training are also in high demand.

F45 has also innovated its training offerings in light of the ever-evolving pandemic. Fitness Trend 3: Micro Workouts Instead of Longer Workouts

Making time for longer workouts can be daunting. With a significant portion of the workforce still working remotely, many are opting to train during off-peak hours thanks to their flexible working hours. Many have chosen to introduce pockets of movement into their daily routine, such as cycling to work or seeking therapy from nature by taking a break from work in nearby parks.
